Door Automation – The Client
Malvern Panalytical, a leading provider of scientific instruments; recently got in touch with ERREKA UK to enquire about door automation for a pair of existing manual doors in use at their site. The company, which designs instruments for a wide number of industries (such as state of art hospital equipment); was looking to simplify and improve access for their employees who frequently transport delicate tools and machinery. Subsequently, with door automation, the client hopes to improve efficiency and reduce the chance of accidental damage to expensive equipment.
The Requirements
The doors must be fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). This will subsequently ensure that disabled workers will be able to negotiate the doors without assistance. In order to assist both disabled workers and to protect large pieces of equipment, the operator will need to provide the doors with the maximum possible opening width. Of course, in cases of wide loads where knocks are unavoidable, it is important that the openers are capable of enduring occasional knocks without detrimentally effecting long term reliability. Finally, it is essential that the installation of the automatic openers cause minimal downtime for the busy site.
The Result
ERREKA supplied and fitted the manual doors with PREMIS 120 openers. Due to its thoughtful design, PREMIS openers are easy to attach to existing doors with minimal fuss. Subsequently, door automation was carried out in swift fashion. Like all of our automatic openers, the PREMIS 250 is fully compliant with the latest health and safety regulations. The PREMIS 120 is known for its robustness and silent movement, it also provides an air tight seal, which will help to contain chemical smells.
